Review:Both of my daughters (9 and7) dance with Murphy, we have been there for the last four years. They love it and would go every day if I would let them. Mary Jo and Trish really foster a love of dancing. As a parent I enormously appreciate that they are NOT strict and controlling - the level of involvement is up to ME. You are not required to compete, or do outside dance performances, and school sports are encouraged and worked around. My girls, however, love to see their other friends at competitions and very much enjoy participating in group and solo performances all over the city all year long. I never post reviews online, but felt this one was well deserved. I am happy to sign my name to it. On Yelp, BayAreaIrish, or any other review site, I completely disregard negative reviews that are posted anonymously. Everyone has different experiences... I'm happy to share mine with you.

Review:The founding teacher, MaryJo Feeney and her daughter Tricia Feeney Conefrey are the most disorganized people I have ever encountered in a non-professional business. They fought all the time in front of the students, some of them very young children. Neither seems to ever know what the other is doing and spend most of their lesson time arguing over petty disagreements. I strongly suggest checking out any of the other Irish Dancing schools before considering the Murphy School.
